Absolute must have if you are working with GFCI outlets!
The media could not be loaded. I previously owned a basic GFCI tester (no display) and had great results. However, I found myself needing a bit of an upgrade so I could see the voltage readout for my outlets. This checked the box and is an absolute game changer for me. It had a better design, around the same size as the basic version, nice and bright display, but most important of all it is accurate. I can test GFCI outlets and get the voltage readout for any outlet in my home. It has helped me identify issues with lower voltage in some outlets and bad GFCI outlets. I recommend reading the instruction manual before using a device like this just to get accustomed to what it is telling you on the digital readout display. Overall, it comes from a quality brand, it is easy to use, so this is a must-have tool if you are working with electrical.

Industry standard for a reason -- accurate, pocket size and quick to read
This is an industry standard. I've had a lot of electrical work done on my place and was very pleased to see the journeyman electrician had one of these. He sang its praises for being inexpensive, essential for electrical household safety, super bright, fits just right in the hand (or small pocket), and the design is well-labeled and so easily read with the LCD screen. I was quite happy I bought it after hearing all that!!! Great for finding and fixing open ground and so many other issues. Put one in your electrical kit and stay safe!!

Great for every DIYer
Last time I use a multimeter to check the voltage on an outlet, the probe sparked and melted. This experience was very scary and I am not going to try it again. This Klein GFCI outlet tester provides a digital reading just like a multimeter with just plug in which is safer. The extra function of checking correct wiring is a plus because I replaced two old GFCI outlets and this helped double check my work for safety as well as testing if the GFCI trip function works or not. This tester size is longer because of the detail display. And it is because of this, the price is slightly more than other basics tester.

Another excellent tool from Klein
Has an electrician I find this device to be efficient and informative. Like any other plug tester it tells you if the wiring is done correctly but when wiring a new house we have to test to make sure voltage is correct in an outlet as well with some of the larger homes that are built these days, you can imagine how tiresome they can get going around with a voltmeter testing 80 to 200 outlets. This device makes that task quick and easy.

Testing for voltage in outlet.
Works good, but it is a little bulky.

More info, easy to use
I love this tester ... it's more informative than the ones with just the lights. Costs more, but worth it, IMO.

Great tool for the money
Great tool to have for homeowners, inspectors, easy and clear to use to test outlets. I use it when showing home and testing my own house outlets

Enhanced outlet tester.
This is really handy. Everyone has the testers that tell if an outlet is hot or not, or if it’s wired correctly, but this one will tell you how many volts is there too.Recently there was a problem and my hot stick and regular tester showed the outlet was good, an acquaintance had one of these and it showed the outlet was only getting around 112V, which is enough to cause a problem for 120V circuits.Very worthwhile to have for electrical work.
