XB700 Replacement Earpad Ear Pad Cushion Ear Pads Compatible with Sony MDR-XB700 Headphones.

Once I figured out how to install these replacement ear pads they have been great. They are better than the original pads (which started peeling off). HINT: Don't try to pull the elastic around to get them on. They twist on once you align the parts (don't know what to call them). They are VERY easy to get on once you figure that out. I didn't get any instructions. I think I checked YouTube for help. These are very comfortable and the sound is equal or better to original pads. I gave 4 stars because of lack of instructions (I spent a lot of unnecessary time fighting with them before I figured out the correct way to install).

For the MDR-XB500, these replacement ear pads came with no instructions. A youtube video was some help, but removal of the old pads was tedious (3 tiny, tight screws, not one like the video says), and getting the new pads correctly aligned in the mounting rings is exceptionally difficult. The mounting rings are flimsy, and I suspect they would be easy to break (though I did not break them). The replacement pads should come with new mounting rings already installed. The final challenge is getting the little screws back into their little holes.

This was my second time installing new earpads after purchasing the headphones. Maybe its just me, but I notice a marked difference in sound quality with the new ear cushions. Bass seems to be much deeper, likely due to the new foam over the degraded old. Worthwhile maintenance for these great headphones when the old earpads begin to fall apart.

Has the exact same feel and build of the original ear cuffs on my XB500 which had the surface flaking off leaving black specs everywhere. I've had these headphones for close to 10 years and these will hopefully let them last several more.In case anyone is wondering the screws inside of the XB500 are phillips #0. I had to order a new screwdriver set because mine did not have the proper size and came close to stripping the screws.

Pretty good I believe they were made by the same company as the originals. Be careful while installing, you need to remove 3 very small screws for each.

Sound quality is bad. Distorted bass and muffled dynamic range. No comparison to the original. Definitely not a smart purchase. Luckily, they were cheap. Another example of you get what you pay for.

Its defenately the right sized earpad and defenately comfortable. Would have been nice if I got both as advertised thoEDIT::: they sent me 2 after I mentioned it, no biggie now!! Great ear pads, very happy =)

my wifes headphone cushions were peeling. replaced them with these. shes happy again and so am i (lol)
