So far, so very good
Highlights:* crisp image;* accurate touch;* 16:10 aspect ratio;* touch functionality worked with minimal fuss on MacOSI use this monitor in a music production home studio, where I mounted it on VESA-compatible arm*, hovering over a MIDI controller. I connect it to a Mac Studio and use touch to control Logic Pro, plug-ins and AxeEdit III.It works really well for this application. I am able to adjust plug-in and AxeFX parameters with simply a touch and without much fuss. And the vTouch suite seems sufficiently powerful for me to add a couple of quality of life improvements (e.g. multi-finger gestures forVESA Mounting: because this is a portable monitor, it doesn't have VESA mounting facilities. The portable cover is cool, and I didn't want to lose this functionality, so I just used some adhesive metal plates and mounted neodymium magnets the VESA receiver bracket. Mags are strong and monitor is light enough to make this a sufficiently sturdy solution.

Solid
This portable monitor feels like a premium product, much more so than others I have seen. The screen quality surpasses that of my 1-year-old Surface Laptop, and it seems very efficient—the Surface battery charges quickly when plugged in. The built-in stand and detachable cover are great features. The touch screen and sound quality are more than adequate. Two complaints:The brightness defaults to 15%, which is lower than I would like, and it is painfully slow to increase it.The charger (which I almost never use since I just charge from my laptop or docking station) is absurdly large and clunky.Overall, I am very happy with this product.

Excellent thin second monitor for office work
Overall, I am extremely pleased with this monitor. Excellent to toss in with your laptop in your laptop case.Pros:+ Incredibly thin, very compact+ Excellent build quality - metal backing, protective thin shield for screen+ Excellent touchscreen+ Can be powered from a host device USB-C. This works whether the host device is plugged in or operating on battery. When you can plug in the host device, that powers the ViewSonic monitor, as well.+ Lots of adjustments+ Even when brightness is turned down (to save battery on the host device), the screen is very readablee.+ Good resolution for very readable quality.+ Excellent multi angle kickstand is very solid and supports the entire monitor.+ Works well for Samsung DeX. The touchscreen really helps with this type of usa.Cons:- Speakers are thin and tinny.... better than nothing, but you might want to use headphones with the host device.- As others have observed, the colors are a bit on the dull side. There are lots of adjustments available through the monitor menu, so it can be tuned for what you need it for. Generally, this a very good office applications monitor and less of a multimedia monitor. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad at all for Netflix, etc.Overall, I think ViewSonic did a great job with this monitor and I highly recommend it for your road use.

Welcome home, new friend. Goodbye, old friend.
I bought this monitor to replace my broken ViewSonic VA1655 model. I broke the screen when overstuffing my backpack and going through the airport carelessly. It served me well in its time. I tried two other monitors, knock-off brands for half the price....buy half the quality too. In the end I decided to keep one as a backup and return the other one (you can read my other reviews to see how a monitor can drive you insane quickly). This new monitor, the ViewSonic VA1653 looks and works 98% identical. What difference I noticed is the built-in kickstand does not support vertical orientation (do not care) and the USB-C cable it came with was straight instead of the cool 90-degree one that my old ViewSonic came with (a little saddened by that). But hey, I paid about $30 less for this than the old one so who is to complain, right?Plugged in; hit the power button, and the screen came to life instantly. I could not be happier. The screen is just as bright, just as crisp (for my WFH needs), just as light....its like getting a new puppy after your best dog passes...its not exactly the same, but you love it immediately because of the familiarity to the old.

Simple, solid, good quality extra monitor.
I wasn't expecting much for the price - I just wanted an extra monitor to sit on my desk for extra screen real estate, nothing special. But I have been thoroughly pleased with this! I work in a somewhat bright, sun-lit room and the monitor's brightness is more than sufficient. Even at 1080, the screen is very clear. And the bezel is quite narrow (except for the bottom, which matters less). The construction is also very nice - no plastic - and its pop-out stand is very sturdy and can rest at a pretty low angle. Finally, the touch is quite precise, and I don't find myself needing the stylus. Overall, really great value.I am not counting off points for this because for my use - and at this price level - it does matter, but color accuracy is fairly "meh." But that doesn't effect my work one bit. (BTW, my picture has the screen with night mode / redshift turned on - it is not that warm by default).
