Buy it and read it!
I just turned 66 years old this year. My wife and I are comfortably retired. I give tremendous credit to the information we received in this great book to improve our financial literacy. We first read one of the earliest editions over 20 years ago. We never saw so much practical advice all in one easy to read book. This book is a must read for all, especially younger folks. Our children have both read it and keep it for reference.Author, Eric Tyson, also taught "Dummies Finance Course" at UC Extension in San Francisco in the early 1990's - that I also attended. He is a great guy and I hope he I doing well. This book should be required reading in high school for all Americans.FYI: Along with this book for financial literacy we suggest: Richest Man In Babylon, Rich Dad Poor Dad, Millionaire Next Door. Finally How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie is a must read.

Great for teens
Since school will not teach your teens about finances, take the time to do it!! Th is book had really helped. We sit together as a family and debated concepts from book. Worth the investment!

This books makes finance easy to understand and apply. Highly recommended.
I've always been fascinated with personal finance, and have tried my own strategy by reading up online. I finally came to terms that I should get a book and lear about it after reading the reviews - and i'm so glad I did! there were a lot of things I wasnt aware of and I was about to learn AND apply the knowledge right away. Actually am making way more using the knowledge than had I not spent the $15 for the book.I liked it so much I got another copy for my sister who hates finance. I never thought she would pick up a book and learn about finance, but wow, was I wrong!Highly recommended!

This has proved invaluable to me in understanding personal finance. This was recommended to me by a doctor while I was in nursing school. She said, "Don't blindly let others manage you finances. You are the one it impacts the most and it's your hard earned money; know what is happening with it." Well, I bought the books she recommended and I'm so glad I did. I've purchased copies for my parents as well. Now when banks and investment companies recommend I do this or that with my money, I understand what exactly it entails and what hidden motivations they may have for advising me one way over another. Read with "Work Less, Live More: The Way to Semi-Retirement " for a comprehensive view of how to manage your finances for easy retirement.

A Great Book to Start to Learn about Financial Matters!
I purchased this book for a gift to a friend. She had just received some stocks as an inheritance, and told me that she was lost as to what to do with them. After learning more about her financial status, I suggested this book. She is thrilled with it because it gives a basic, beginners overview ( in EASY to READ language) as to "where to start" in assessing and managing your finances. She was thankful to also receive the Workbook - because it helped her to write it all down in one place. I would highly recommend this book. Even if you know a lot about how to manage your finances, this book is also good to make sure that you are using all the tools available to secure your financial health.

I purchased this product for a college class and was a bit skeptical how I would feel about it. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. It is very well written. The author makes it easy to understand and breaks it down so that even the non-financial savvy can understand it. It also full of very practical and useful information that everyone should read.

easy read
Even if you thought you knew financial management, you still can learn quite a bit from this book and have it explained in a simple and easy to understand manner and you can see how easy it is to apply in your life. Even if you do not want to apply it in your life it is nice to still get the knowledge and get a sanity check on your finances and ensure things are still on the right track. If you do not know much about financial management, I would recommend reading this book, even with young teenagers. Why not start them off right and do it early?

get your copy and read it cover to cover! this book covers many topics, most of which are relevant to the average person with low-to-average incomes. between this book and 'The Wealthy Barber' by David Chilton, you should have a very solid foundation to start taking control of your finances without having to pay someone else for advice. both books should be required reading in highschool. it is never too late, i gave my dad a copy of this (he runs his own small business) and he was amazed at the amount of stuff that he learned.
