better than most dry cat foods
As dehydrated cat foods go, this one is much better than the rest. It's less likely to cause obesity and diabetes than the dry cat foods with lots of carbohydrates. Cats are obligate carnivores, therefore have evolved to digest meat/organs/bones efficiently, but a cat's pancreas isn't able to handle the load of sugars that result from eating starch.Sadly though, all dehydrated food will cause kidney disease and bladder crystals because cats have a very low thirst drive and don't drink anywhere near enough water to counteract the dehydrating effects of consuming dry food. Cats evolved to eat the bodies of animals/birds/reptiles/bugs which are 80-85% water. So please either feed dry foods to your cats only occasionally, or add water or plain broth/stock to the dry food.Note: only plain broth/stock, as onions/garlic and some spices are toxic to cats.Thank you for caring enough to learn more about your role in your cat's health vs. disease.

MY ELDERLY CAT BLUE LOVES IT!
My elderly cat realy likes to eat sometimes dry food. Unfortunately, any time she eats any dry food, she has indigestion. Over years I tried so many brands and non was digestible by her stomach. Finally I FOUND THE ONE - ZIWI peak steam dry food with beef…I think, my elderly cat Blue fell in love with me the second time:)

Not the same as “premium” kibble!
Thank god I gave this a shot!My cat’s are transitioning to a primarily raw/freeze-dried diet from the traditional kibble/canned diet. I have four, all of whom can be finicky and have different tastes—which is a pain when looking for new food. The other thing that sucks is that we got fancy auto feeders for their kibble before and now all of the readily available freeze-dried foods are too large to fit through the auto feeder’s spout, causing it to be ground up into dust, or not dropping a consistent amount of food each time.Enter the new steam & dried “kibble” from Ziwi! Calling this kibble feels inaccurate because it is so different from traditional kibble, you can tell that it is dried versus baked. Also, the cats go legitimately nuts for it! We had to order slow-feeder inserts for their bowls to keep our very dumb orange cat from absolutely INHALING it. Thankfully, with this food, my goobers still have the benefits from “raw” diet—less smelly solid poops, shinier coats, etc. If you are looking for a good starting point for your kitty’s journey to a raw or minimally-processed diet, this is it! Since it feels similar enough to kibble, my cat’s don’t care about the change. They all really loved their morning crunchies and now they can have that again, which makes me happy. Also, don’t be fooled by the weight of the bag, this kibble is much lighter than normal dry food, so the 2lb bag is around the size of a 3.5-4lb bag of traditional kibble.

Happy Cat Happy Cat Mom
My cat loves these! They're very small bites. She's very happy. I would say they're quite fishy smelling. It's intense. but I'm happy if she's happy.
