I actually use this diary book to take Sermon notes at the Church. It's an awesome diary with a quality look to it.

I really don't know who uses a locked journal as an adult (not shaming, just don't know of anyone). But my teenager really likes this journal and uses it everyday to write in. She uses a gel or ballpoint pen and doesn't have issue with bleeding ink. The lines are wide enough for her writing.

This is a beautiful journal. The leather is so soft and smells wonderful. The clasp works, but you can tell it's not very high-quality, and I suspect it won't last very long. I haven't written in it yet, but I'll update my review to include the quality of the pages.For now, it seems like a fun novelty, and will likely keep all but the most determined eyes from prying.

The only way the lock works is if you are resetting the password each time. You can’t move the numbers off of the correct combination, so it’s essentially a fancy button. Not an actual lock.

This fairly hefty leather-cover journal comes with a configurable combination lock, inner pockets for cards and a window for a small photo, and the interior book (lined pages with blank fields in the top margin for "date" and "memo number," as well as three boxes to check off whether the weather is clear, rainy, or in-between) can be removed and replaced with a fresh interior once you've used up all the pages. The interior book comes equipped with a bookmark ribbon as well.Honestly, the only slightly-awkward thing about this journal was that the instruction for the lock were kept inside the book's covers while it was in its package, although the default combination is the one that the diary is locked to before you pull out the safety pin (000), so that only really led to some momentary confusion upon first opening. Other than that, this diary's pretty much perfect unless you prefer a fancier design on your journal cover or are looking for something with unlined pages for whatever reason you might have.

This is a very nice journal with the lock on the outside. Of course, all of the journal locks are not that great, but the lock is good and it will do its job. I think I like the black leather a bit better but the brown one is pretty too. I have both colors but I think this is just a matter of preference. I wish this had the binder rings inside so I could add more pages or take some out as needed. However, this will be a good "growing up" journal for my grandson. I have kept journals on all my kids as they grew up and now my kids are doing the same for their children so they can read about different events that happened throughout their life. I think this is a good quality journal that will last through many years.

Good size; PU leather is more like plastic of some sort; nice color.
