Vickerman 50 Light 20" Red LED Bethlehem Star

I guess they wanted to make this a folding decoration and not permanently open for storage reasons? It does not have very many lights given the size of it - it needs at least 2x more to beat out the effects of the street lights in an urban or even suburban situation. It is not a classy thing with using cable ties to hold it together (then we have to cut them off each time to store? I don;t keep a supply of cable ties around.) They also have not figured out how we are to hang these which is surprising. All the buyers have to figure for themselves how to hang them.

This is just what I was looking for to put on the top of my cupola for Christmas. Everything else I have is warm white though so I replaced every bulb with warm white led bulbs. That was not fun, taking it apart to replace bulbs is not easy, and putting it back together again was even less fun. BUT, it looked great when I was all done.

All the lights on this star burned out two days after we mounted it over the manger scene in our yard. The company from whom we bought it was kind enough to send us another one at no charge, but by that time, we were taking our Christmas decorations down. I won't know until next Christmas whether the problem we had was an aberration, or whether the star has a design problem. The star is also much larger than we were expecting, but that is not the star's problem, we didn't read the description carefully enough.

Acceptable but not great. Not thrilled with having to use zip ties. Size and color is nice. I had different ones in the past that were made with more durable, flexible plastic. I'm not sure these will last in freezing rain as the plastic feels very breakable.

I do not like to hang electrical things by their cords, but there is no other way to use this unless you rig your own hanging system. I wrapped the slight groove at the top of the light with 8 lb beading string and tied a wire hanger to it I made myself. Glued it because it did not feel solid enough. It works well now, but I will have to store it in the three dimensional configuration or unglue and unwrap it so it will fold flat. If it was not so pretty I would not have bothered.

little pricey but a nice heavy duty star, should last for quite some time. did not come with ties to assemble so i just used a couple of zip ties no big deal.

Beautiful product. Nicely designed. Must be handled and stored with care.
